Thousands Left Without Electricity in Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Storms
Nearly 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland were left without power on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the area, bringing strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Extensive Damage
Residents witnessed giant hailstones reaching sizes of seven centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Response teams were attempting to repair power throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units activated to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
At the same time, nearly 1,000 residents in Victoria also faced electricity disruptions after the capital city experienced its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Emergency response teams received nearly 600 emergency reports across the region, mainly for building damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

At the height on yesterday, in excess of 28k energy customers in Victoria were without power.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were forecast to persist along significant areas of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was expected to become the wettest day, with continued thunderstorm potential anticipated across various areas of both states.
Medical Alert
Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after historical occurrences where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
